Yeah, he couldn't care less where he stops you Nara. :P
And okay, on his terms, on his terms indeed.

He didn't see, I swear ;)

Woah, the glowslimer is really intent on getting its revenge, even in the face of death. I wonder how Aurele is going to survive this, if she doesn't catch up to its heart fast enough...
jawbone 18th Jan 2020, 5:00 PM edit delete reply
It's ultimately a suicide move, if I read things accurately.
Darksh1ne 18th Jan 2020, 6:27 PM edit delete reply
Quite possibly
...(RockB) 19th Jan 2020, 4:07 PM edit delete reply
Huh, I didn't expect that.

But coldly considered, it would be better for one's species to kill oneself and take a fierce predator with you instead of just dying.
Darksh1ne 19th Jan 2020, 9:20 PM edit delete reply
Very human-like, don't you think...
...(RockB) 20th Jan 2020, 1:08 AM edit delete reply
Depends... Maybe. Actually, I'm not sure. I can imagine certain human just dying without trying to hurt the predator, out of spite. :(
Darksh1ne 20th Jan 2020, 6:26 AM edit delete reply
That is true, but do you know any animals who'd do that? ^^
...(RockB) 20th Jan 2020, 9:24 AM edit delete reply
By chance I know that rabbits eat their babies if they feel so threatened that they must move. The evolutionary logic/argument is that they can't run away with the babies and don't want to leave them behind to feed a predator. Sorry for the downer...

But killing oneself to kill a predator? No.
Ag 20th Jan 2020, 11:00 AM edit delete reply
Well, some animals, primarily insects, have been known to kill themselves for 'the greater good' through autothysis. There even exists a species of exploding ants called Colobopsis explodens...go figure xD
Darksh1ne 21st Jan 2020, 6:20 AM edit delete reply
Hey. don't worry about it, I've heard about such cases too. I always liked to learn more about the animal kingdom (mostly about the macro portion of it, my photo gallery on DA is a proof of that :P)
Yeah, there are tons of insects who make you scratch your head and think "So good I'm not one!"

The story of this is... interesting (I guess it's commendable to try and make smut have a story whatever the case haha.) though the art could use some work, because it hasn't seemed to evolve much over the course of it? What kind of drawing exercises do you do regularly?
Darksh1ne 21st Jan 2020, 6:59 AM edit delete reply
Hehe, considering that this was originally planned as just porn with a very limited story, it slowly shifts into the opposite corner. Though the hentai theme is forever rooted into the lore itself so there is no escape from it :D

As for your art-related question, it... requires a more complicated answer. First of all, I think it heavily improved throughout the years, it's just you can’t find any of the early pages anymore. The comic has been rebooted a couple of years ago (Mostly because of the writing and pacing issues, not the art quality), and I time to time return back to the first chapters to add changes to already existing pages, to make the art look more consistent throughout the whole thing.

There is an example of one of the old pages that is forever gone. You should get the idea why the reboot was necessary -

Second, I treat this comic more as a manga, rather than western-style comic. What I mean is, to me it's much more important to tell a story and not to create an art gallery, connected by a plot. I'm heavily cutting corners for the sake of steady pace (And I’m currently considering the necessity to cut them even more). I realize that backgrounds and some minor details definitely could use more attention, but again, it all comes to time issue.
The story that I wish to tell is massive and I plan to tell it for decades to come. If I'd waste time perfecting every panel, we'd move at a snail's pace, and unfortunately life is not infinite ^^ Right now we are just somewhere in the middle of prologue.
...(RockB) 21st Jan 2020, 9:20 AM edit delete reply
First off, pity... that page doesn't look too bad for a wall-of-text-page.

But most importantly: This is the middle of the prologue?? The prologue will be about 1400 pages long??? OMG.

Ahem. Please continue... This will be the longest prologue of a comic I ever encountered. Might be a world record in the making :D
(And thus I have another reason to work on my immortality... ;P)

Edit: And even more most importantly (<- Please don't quote me on this, it is baaaad English): I just had a quick look at the first few pages, something changed indeed - looks like I need to read the whole comic again!

And not so importantly but still: This is the least pornographic comic I ever heard of that has this amount of tentacles in it. ;D But (seriously) I think it's just the right amount. Tentacles and other things considered.
Darksh1ne 21st Jan 2020, 9:55 AM edit delete reply
if you think this is long, you don't read that many mangas then :P But yes, the second adventure into Kifir is a set up for a big reveal which will later kickstart the main plot. Doesn't mean we can't have some fun on the way, that's why it takes so long :D
...(RockB) 21st Jan 2020, 10:07 AM edit delete reply
True, I don't read many mangas. My favorite (Oh! My Goddess) went on for 48 books, but the prologue was within the first book.

Then again... I don't read Akira but one might argue that the whole story of Akira is the epilogue of a manga that has to be written yet. :p

(need to run now.)
Darksh1ne 21st Jan 2020, 10:44 AM edit delete reply
Hmm, ok, to make a semi-accurate comparison, if you've watched Akira movie - the on-going Kifir trip and the point where it will be fully concluded has about the same relative length as the part before Tetsuo gets taken by the government.

We're introducing the characters, the setting and the mood, while slowly approaching an important event that will set up the course for the rest of the story.

That's the prologue part I'm talking about. Can't say I define it correctly but... you get the picture :P
...(RockB) 21st Jan 2020, 10:28 PM edit delete reply
I watched the movie, about 30 years ago. Don't remember much... Tetsuo being taken by the government... that was... about one third in, or maybe 1/4th in? I should watch Akira again, it was a great movie.
So many things to do, so little time...
Darksh1ne 22nd Jan 2020, 6:37 AM edit delete reply
Well, it's not about the exact time ratio of that portion of the movie but rather the narrative point - the establishment of characters, stakes and lore before the main plot begins.
As for the length in pages I can't even begin to predict. The Kifir advantage is already way longer than I originally planned. Just look at this battle against glowslimer, which lasts for already 50+ pages. I didn't plan it like this, yet here we are ^^
I sometimes feel that this story will develop a lot like One piece does. The author has the major plot points, including the ending preplanned and decided, but the adventure that leads to them stretches and grows as he progresses. I already see the same pattern happening in MA. After all... I didn't even properly introduce the main character yet >.<
...(RockB) 23rd Jan 2020, 2:26 AM edit delete reply
Well, we'll see...
As long as you are satisfied with the flow and pace, it's fine. :)
