Armoured eyes ? they're learning...

Well, the eyes themselves are not armored, but the triangle frame around them serves that purpose
Oldarmourer 12th Mar 2020, 12:41 PM edit delete reply
Then it's armour ;)

What a fitting name for this monster. I assume it's using echolocation to spot its prey, hence those clicking sounds?

Or it could serve another purpose. Often animals act quietly when they see or feel the presence of hunters to avoid being noticed. Now imagine a huge ferocious beast running through the woods as loudly as possible. A prey is so scared that it can no longer stay hidden and jumps out to run away - exactly what the monster wanted. The prey exposes its presence, now it just needs to be caught.

Well, there are some animals that lure their prey through vocal mimicry, although I'm not aware of any predators that scare their prey into revealing themselves. Really clever design!

It might be not the most effective I admit :P

What's on with the last few pages. The "coloring"/gray-shading looks so... unspecified. Do you want to express that it's pitch black and even grayscales are meaningless?
Darksh1ne 12th Mar 2020, 6:17 AM edit delete reply

Yes. At first I was pondering about using deep black as font and light-grey lines for objects as I did for volti taking the scent several pages ago. But after asking my readers on discord we decided to stop on this option, as this kind of scenes, done in pitch black without any source of light will happen again in future.
The detailed greyscale that i used throughout this chapter will not be used in next chapter either, as I had to find a new job and now have very limited time to draw. Sacrifices must be made to save the pace.

I see, thanks. (I'd like a slower pace with full quality better but that's just me, most often I don't look at CF for a day or two just when you post new pages and then I'm late.)

I understand that. But I treat my comic more like a manga rather than a western comic. It's longer, it's richer but not as artistically impressive. If I'd put too much effort into the artistic side, I'll not be able to tell the story I want in a lifetime. So the pace takes the cake

Yes, if you have a story to be told, a certain pace of posting id needed. I understand that, :)
