I think this is bad judgement on Gladiators side:
We don't see pink clouds so it seems the heat attack killed the little bugs too. If Fluffy wipes them, the hive will be without information about Fluffy. I think he should send few runners to hive to inform it before attacking Fluffy.
Skrogs vs Fluffy...skrogs have advantage that Fluffy ignores them (unlike humans) as long as they keep distance....but they seems to have big disadvantage...seems they don't have any ranged attacks or casters, so they have to zerg it down, which will be hard considering the size difference (but they have superior numbers compared to any human based army that could face Fluffy without triggering its cone attack).

Phew! Not to late to step back.

Gasp! Suddenly we understand Skrog-language!

So the Gladiator didn't know Fluffy or anything about it and approached Fluffy to test... a theory.

Yes, this is a much bigger threat than some humans - physically bigger and figuratively bigger. So I'd say: Poor judgement of the Gladiator, Even given that the Skrog don't know about Fluffy's wide-area attack, what could they possibly achieve against something/some-being the size of Fluffy, with their simple weapons and their comparably tiny size? I can't imagine any good outcome of this, only a bad outcome and a much worse outcome (if Fluffy turns towards the hive).

GASP indeed!

@Pej Correct, pink flies got roasted as well. And we'll see how it goes, if it goes at all...

@RockB I was tempted to leave this vogue as usual when it came to Skrog speech, but this kind of idea was way too specific and had to be expressed more accurate than usual.

And yeah... doesn't sound like a very good idea to attack that thing with what Skrogs have. But Hive must be protected. At all costs.

I think informing Hive should be Gladiators priority. He has army there, sending 2-3 Skrogs to inform hive wouldn't change his chances much, but it gives the hive chance to change strategy in case this attack fails (most probable outcome unless Skrogs have some surprise).
Also observing may be good idea here. Seems Fluffy reactions are based on instinct rather (gets into area - attack, gets out - no attack, above 10 humans - inferno, below 10 - nothing), so if you discover its behavioral patern (no idea if this is correct word in English) they can use it to their advantage (something humas of Kifir probably already do).

B..but...why?
I mean, how can it be that the ants did not know about fluffy existence?

Skrogs are territorial and don't wander far, and Kifir is not visited by humans that often. So the chances of them running into it like this were always very low

Impressive creature. I have been following the comments. It seems those “fire flowers” (for lack of a better word) on Fluffy certainly have a danger zone as mentioned earlier. I wonder if they operate like ‘automatic sentry machine guns’ without Fluffy consciously needing to control them. It would make sense considering his (her?) size. Of course taking conscious control of them means they cold all be combined into one huge devastating blast, heheheh.

Speaking of Fluffy’s sex, there were previous comments of being more that one of them. That said, wonder what two of them would look like, humping away during mating season. Bet you could sell popcorn to that event.

I like your thoughts about Fluffy's defences. I can see the "fire flowers" as a zebra's tail swatting away flies.

For your second question, simply purchase two AT-AT toys and make one mount the other... lol

AT-ATs fucking too funny. 😂. Yeah and your zebra tail (horse, cow, etc.) swatting flies analogy is exactly what I was thinking of.
