Heheh, clicked onto this page when “Burning Down the House” was playing on the radio, serendipity. Observation, Fluffy is spending an enormous amount of energy.
What if Fluffy decided to burn all of them, no matter how many they are? Fluffy didn't stop when the other party was down to 10.
Hmm, if I got that right, Dervik's Barrier would block everything, including Fluffy's perception, all of them would suddenly be gone.
Also... I'm not all sure but it seems that Fluffy heated up the area relatively slowly (instead of "spitting fire" and burning down everything within a few seconds) - given that and considering the other party, where some of them tried to keep cool in the water and Fluffy cooked the flesh from their bones: How long would it take him to heat up the water that much and keep it cooking long enough? 10 minutes maybe? Half an hour? Maybe Aurele is in for a real stress test.
Actually he heated it up in just a matter of seconds. His attack here doesn't differ from the one that Senya's group got into. I've shown the moment when he started when Nara noticed the grass scorching. Keep in mind that Fluffy advance to the shooting position and the group summoning the barrier were happening at the same time. There was simply no other way to show the events but one after another. I was considering shuffling the panels between each other at some point, but to be honest the end result would be very messy to follow.
That's surprising. Some knights of Senya's group had the time to notice the heat, decide that it was too much, threw themselves into the water - if they were quick thinkers, all this could have happened in a few seconds - and then they were cooked. I thought that would take at least a few minutes... hm... now that you said it, it might go much faster in a microwave oven.
Ye the idea was always that it happened really fast. Senya and the guy who survived with her but got caught by the Volti, both had different levels of burns. Senya is almost unharmed but he had severe levels of burns. It's easy to explain if you imagine them both leaving the area of attack with several seconds of difference. Senya first, him second. The level of heat was rising so fast that he got hurt a lot just because of that small time difference.
Fluffy's 'heat' attack seems to be more focused than pervasive, like aiming a quartz IR heater rather than being inside an oven, or it might have for Senya and she could have had something blocking the worst of the 'beam' so it didn't hit her squarely ?
Our party under the dome is in an oven, however, one set to 'clean' ;)

Good that Dervik is ready...
